Guest Mix

Xan is on a mission to celebrate music, culture, and cultural heritage in the community.

"With a muddled trajectory from child acting, to a degree in Neuroscience and a diploma in Ethnomusicology, you could either say I’m poorly focused or endlessly curious."

Xan is a mainstay of Melbourne's PBS 106.7FM. She hosts the Sound and Vision segment on The Breakfast Spread each Tuesday at 8am, as well as co-hosting Solaris every Sunday at midnight alongside Clancy Balen.

"My love for community radio has been the elegant tie between all these passions, allowing me to share, discuss, and platform all avenues in the arts. Music or film, sound or vision; the joy for me is in celebrating all the creative brilliance I’m so blessed to be surrounded by."

"I feel like I've been making a lot of v serious mixes lately so I made one of my favourite sexy 60s and 70s songs from the cassette archives" -- I thought in our pandemic times it would be nice to have a mood lifter of a mix ❤❤"

"The songs that you dance to with your hips, not your feet. The tunes that have you dressed to the nines, hair gelled back and shirt freshly starched. You’re feeling fruity, you’ve nailed the mood lighting - and now, baby, it’s time to groove."

I am practising on land stolen from the Wurundjeri and Boon Wurrung People of the Kulin Nation.  I acknowledge the Wurundjeri and Boon Wurrung People as the rightful owners of the land we live on, and pay respect to their elders, past, present, and emerging. Sovereignty has never been ceded."
